The Bærtling Scholarship

The Bærtling Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding artist working in the spirit of Olle Bærtling. The scholarship aims to promote constructive art and provide artists with the opportunity to develop their artistic practice. The foundation strives to recognize artists who have demonstrated creative excellence within the artistic direction known as alternatively concrete, constructivist, and constructive. The scholarship has been awarded since 1983 and is intended to be used for the education or instruction of artists. The scholarship amount is 100,000 Swedish kronor. Recipients are selected by experts in the foundation’s board. It is not possible to apply for the scholarship.

The honorary scholarship

During the years 2006-2016, the foundation awarded an honorary scholarship every five years to an artist who had worked in the constructive tradition for a long time.
